Maybe you haven’t done it in years, maybe you can’t even remember the last time that you did it, but, as with the most wonderfully simplistic things in life, the joy of being on a swing rarely ever loses its luster. And, while the literal setting has changed, my ultimate favorite hideout to this day has remained the same since childhood: the front porch swing!
The most exciting part about this not-so-secret (anymore) ‘hideout‘ is that swings are actually a major THING when it comes to outdoor AND indoor decor these days! The sentiment of the swing has trickled into current day with a new persona: now, better known as the new kid on the block, swings are no longer considered old fashioned but rather the ultimate in cool of home design trendsetters.
But temporary trendy’s beware: this is not just a seasonal fad, this look is here to stay.
Bringing with them a whole new vibe, in all shapes, colors, sizes and styles, todays swing is one that encourages and embraces out-of-the-box thinking with a refreshingly unique design concept, rather than its once cookie cutter, mass production, same old-plain old vibe with a basic rectangle seat. The extraordinary construction and design element of today’s swing not only continues to bring more joy into our home, but our world, linking childhood and adulthood as they carry with them an entirely new perspective; opening our eyes and introducing us to a new layer, and function, as they shine in their own light as true pieces of art.
I have literally saved hundreds of photographs that I have collected from all over the world showcasing my favorite newfound swing obsession, but I will spare you the slideshow!
I have scattered a few pics throughout this article that showcase the variety of swings I have found and love among my findings. A few brands featured in these photos have locations right in Fairfield County! Brands include: Serena & Lily, CB2, and Restoration Hardware. Scroll for some inspo, just in case you feel like trying something new at home or even if you just simply want to pretend you can swing your way right into 2021 as quickly as I do!! 😉
