So, we all know how I feel about hydrangea, I LOVE….but only when cut from your front/backyard, not as filler in formal arrangements! Part of the joy that comes from growing these beauties in is cutting them in endless bunches for all sorts of uses throughout the home. SPOILER ALERT: I am a huge fan of expressing my mood through my creativity, that includes arrangements… and it shows!
One of my ultimate favorite looks, for August especially, is to combine the understated, cottage chic vibe of mason jars with the ultra plush choice of hydrangea while adding just a couple personal touches to give it that overall warm and homey yet light and airy feel. Tying a small piece of twine a few times around the top of any mason jar is a simple addition that extends an instant look of rustic romance to any arrangement. But personal touches are really what make any arrangement come to life. Here I used the femininity of a few stems of white roses as well as a few sprigs of fragrant eucalyptus, resulting in a beautifully aromatic arrangement that visually pleases too!
Locust boughs, cut grapevines and blue hydrangea keep this loose, messy arrangement surprisingly easy and pretty! Perfect for any staircase or space with lots of light!
