Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Artistic Director of Hermes, just unveiled the brands first pen. While we are most familiar with the beloved birkin bag, a writing utensil has yet to be revealed… until late last week that is.
I know what you’re thinking, “It’s just a pen. Why is this such a big deal?” Well this capless pen has a lot more going on than meets the eye. “Designing this pen was no simpler or more complicated than conceiving the inside of an airplane,” Newson, an Australian designer who was a part of the design of the pen. I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty intense for a pen. It is the prefect combination of technology and the impossible. “There’s nothing technological about its appearance,” Newson continues. “It looks easy to use, obvious, instinctual, but it’s hiding a mechanism that’s part genius, part magic!”
Whether you are a writer at heart or just want a savvy utensil to sign those checks with for the lux lover in each of us check out the latest from Hermes.
