And aside from our town staples we have not had a new bakery on the block in what feels like decades. But on this rainy, gloomy day I decided to give the darling brand new By the Way Bakery, located at 19 East Putnam Ave. in Greenwich, a whirl. With a color scheme that mirrors a sweet combination of butter cream frosting and a traditional bakery this little sweet spot is as welcoming as its eye candy goodies. Specializing in offering all treats in small batches, this bakery has tapped into an untouched market here in town and in another big way too! Everything from cookies, muffins, scones, mini-cakes, tea cakes to custom cakes, is completely gluten-free, dairy-free and certified kosher! And even more adorable is that all labels are handwritten and you can order an custom cake you can imagine! They even have a wall of adorable greeting cards which I find always makes to be uber convenient because let’s be real, who doesn’t love a great card?
Using the utmost of qualities for all goodies BTWB is irrisistable! And what better way to compliment any sugary bite than to pair it with a cup of the popular Stumptown coffee or tea from Brooklyn.
