The Iconic Orange Cup Every GG Carries

If you have ever grabbed a coffee from @raphsbakery Raphaël’s Bakery, you already know the joy of that bright orange cup. But the real magic? The complimentary little pastry that comes with every order. A European tradition (much like the goodies that come before your meal at @greenwichanddelancey) that adds a warmth and welcome many places have forgotten and more should adopt. Sidenote: to the restaurants charging for bread baskets… please stop that immediately.

Raphaël’s Bakery has been a Greenwich favorite since opening on Mason Street, and now the beloved French family bakery has officially opened in Darien at 370 Heights Road.

Think fresh, on-site baked baguettes, croissants, brioche, macarons, pain au chocolat, and pastries crafted with ingredients imported from France.

Run by the Dequeker family, Raphaël is a third-generation French pâtissier who has been surrounded by baking since childhood. The result is a bakery that feels authentic, charming, and completely transportive.

Greenwich discovered it first. Now Darien gets to fall in love too.
