Refine first. Everything else follows.

There are certain things you notice immediately and then there are the things you cannot quite explain but know are working.Β Β

When I first sat down with Laura, Co-Founder of Derm Duo, it was her skin. Smooth, even, and radiant in a way that did not feel artificial or overdone. It was not trying too hard. It just looked  right.

She is, quite literally, a walking reflection of the results she and Diana deliver andΒ the philosophy they have built their practice on.Β Β

That philosophy is something they call the Triple R approach:

Refine. Restore. Rebuild.

Simple to remember, but far more nuanced in execution.

At its core, their approach is centered around natural, biostimulatory rejuvenation.  Treatments that work with your body, not against it. The goal is not to change your  face, but to support it in a way that allows you to look like yourself, just more  refreshed.

Classic beauty, as they define it, does not start with adding or correcting. It starts  with refining the skin itself, then restoring what has been depleted, and finally  rebuilding what may have been lost over time. It is a three dimensional way of  approaching the face and one that prioritizes structure before surface.

The first step in that process is where many people do not expect to begin.  βΈ»

Step One: Refine with Thermage

Before anything else, they refine.

For me, that meant starting with Thermage, often referred to as a non surgical  facelift. It is a non invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to heat the  deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production.

Collagen is what gives skin its firmness, elasticity, and structure. By rebuilding it  from within, Thermage tightens, firms, and lifts without adding volume or altering  your natural features.

In simpler terms, it is about lifting and supporting what you already have.

It is also highly effective in treating skin laxity, making it a foundational step in  any long term skin strategy.

And that foundation matters.

Because without it, anything layered on top, whether it is injectables, skin  treatments, or resurfacing, will not have the same effect.

What It Feels Like and What You See

One of the biggest surprises was how quickly you notice something.

There is an immediate, subtle lift. The kind you see along the jawline, around the  cheeks, and in the overall tightness of the skin. It is not dramatic, but it is there.

What makes Thermage different is that it does not rely on instant transformation.  Instead, it works with your body through collagen stimulation.

Over the next 3 to 6 months, collagen continues to rebuild and strengthen. Results  gradually improve over time, typically peaking around the 6 month mark.

The effect is cumulative, natural, and long lasting, which is why it is often  recommended as an annual treatment to maintain results.

Nothing looks forced. Nothing looks obvious.

Just better.

Why They Start Here

The logic behind starting with Thermage becomes clear quickly.

If you think of the face in layers, refining the skin is what allows everything else to  sit better, respond better, and last longer.

It is not about chasing lines or reacting to aging. It is about creating structure and  support in a way that aligns with how your skin naturally functions.

That is what sets Derm Duo apart.

They are not treating isolated concerns. They are looking at the face as a whole and  applying treatments in a sequence that actually makes sense.

The Takeaway

This is step one in my skin series, and it completely reframed how I think about  treatments.

Not as one off fixes. Not as quick wins.

But as part of a strategy rooted in working with your body, not against it.  Refine first. Then restore. Then rebuild.

And once you understand that approach, it is hard to imagine starting anywhere  else.
