The High School Senior Quietly Becoming Greenwich’s Most Trusted Food Voice

There’s something different about the way Jonas Korff talks about food.

Not in a polished, overly curated way. Not in a way that feels like he’s trying to impress anyone. Just honest. Curious. Observant.

And that’s exactly why people are paying attention.

Jonas, a senior in high school, has built a growing Instagram account reviewing local food spots. What started simply, filming himself eating instead of taking photos, quickly turned into something more.

“I love learning about new cultures and cuisine and sharing it,” he says. “It started small, just my friends, but it grew pretty quickly.”

But what stands out isn’t just the growth. It’s the intention behind it.

He Only Posts What He Actually Believes In

In a space where everything can feel overly hyped, Jonas has a simple rule:

If he wouldn’t watch it, he doesn’t post it.

“There are times when I just think, this isn’t good,” he says. “If it’s something I wouldn’t watch, I wouldn’t post it.”

It’s a level of self-awareness that most people, let alone a high school senior, don’t have. And it shows.

He Feels a Responsibility, On Both Sides

Ask him who he’s doing this for, and the answer isn’t one-sided.

“I want to accurately portray each place I go to, and I feel that same responsibility to my viewers,” he explains. “The most important thing for me is honesty.”

That balance between respecting the business and being real with his audience is what builds trust and keeps people coming back.

It’s Changed How He Experiences Food

Running the account hasn’t changed what he eats, but it’s changed how he thinks.

“It’s made me more thoughtful,” he says. “I think deeper about the flavors and the food now.”

And beyond the food itself, he’s paying attention to something else entirely.

What Makes a Place “Good” Isn’t Just the Food

For Jonas, it’s about something harder to define.

“Behind the food, a place needs to have some soul,” he says. “You can feel it when you walk in. The people, the energy, whether it was built from passion.”

It’s the kind of perspective that turns a review into something more than just a recommendation.

Greenwich’s Food Scene Is More Interesting Than People Think

There’s a misconception that comes with towns like Greenwich. That it’s predictable. That it lacks diversity.

Jonas sees it differently.

“People overlook how diverse the food scene is here,” he says. “Being so close to New York, that influence carries over. There’s actually a lot more going on than people realize.”

He’s Not Just Doing This for Fun

Though it is fun.

The account has already opened doors, from social media work with restaurants to local recognition. And he’s just getting started.

“My idea is to take every opportunity I can and go as far as I can with it,” he says.

There’s no overthinking. Just consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to show up.

What He Wants People to Take Away

At the end of the day, it’s not about the algorithm or even the reviews.

“I want people to understand how passionate I am about what I do,” he says. “I want them to feel the same way I do when I’m filming, eating, and learning about a place.”

And that might be exactly why it works.

Because you believe him.
