Known for its plethora of restaurant choices, New Canaan makes it difficult to pick just one to try! But on this particular Saturday afternoon we gave in to one restaurant that we have had our eye on for quite some time: ELM. Located in the heart of town ELM’s chic minimalist exterior is an accurate reflection of its simplistic yet luxurious interior and their immaculate food presentation. With creative and seasonally inspired menu options ELM supports local artisans and farmers with their ingredients to deliver the highest quality of food. Furthermore, the intimate dining area and gorgeous bar have additional features that make your seating preference another hard decision to make! From the chefs counter with a view of the kitchen or a private dining event at their 14 seat chef’s table ELM’s seating options alone give you reason to go back!
But after eating at ELM it is clear that the food is really what has people coming back for more. Chef Luke Venner, the well known, highly skilled yet humble guru in the kitchen, joined ELM from NYC based BLT Fish and BLT Steak. He has been recognized by all levels of publications from the New York Times to Elle Magazine, Wine Spectator and the New York Post. Being raised in South Dakota surrounded by frields of wheat, flowers and fruit on his grandfather’s farm, it is no surprise that Venner has a passion for being involved in the advancement of youth farms and green markets. The combination of Venner bringing his childhood, his passion and his love of food into his prepartion paired with supporting local provides ELM a unique advantage that is not to be missed!
Whether you are shopping with a girlfriend and are looking for a great brunch spot, with a partner for an intimate meal or meeting a business associate to talk shop ELM offers an appropriate and fabulous space for all
