Let’s Talk Peptides

Over coffee with a fellow GG recently, our conversation kept circling back to peptides. I had, of course, heard of them. GLP-1 medications are everywhere right now. But peptides beyond weight-related conversations? That part was new to me.

What struck me most was how often the word “peptides” is used, yet how rarely it is actually explained in a clear, accessible way. Until now.

After a deep dive conversation with Morgan O’Neill, a Greenwich-based Nurse Practitioner who works in functional medicine at Greenwich Primary Care and their holistic division, Remedy, things started to make more sense.

At a foundational level, peptides are short chains of amino acids. In the body, they play many different roles and are often discussed in the context of cellular communication. That includes processes related to skin, metabolism, inflammation, and overall wellness, depending on the peptide and the individual.

You have probably seen terms like NAD+, glow stacks, and longevity peptides trending lately. These conversations are largely centered around how the body functions over time and how lifestyle factors like stress, sleep, and aging are commonly discussed in wellness spaces today.

One thing that came up repeatedly in our conversation was that this is not about quick fixes or trends. Functional medicine focuses on personalization and long-term health, starting with understanding your own data.

At Remedy, the process begins with comprehensive lab work and a one-on-one consultation to review results and discuss options. Any care decisions are individualized and guided by a licensed medical professional.

This is education, not medical advice. If peptides are on your radar, the most important first step is having a conversation with a qualified provider who knows your health history.

Save this for context and clarity. Not shortcuts.
