Over 12,000 Greenwich residents need our support just to get by.”Last year, Greenwich United Way funding provided 1600 Greenwich residents with free crisis counseling and sexual assault prevention programs. More than 1500 Greenwich residents benefit from programs providing food and clothing supported by the Greenwich United Way. As the largest private source of funding for preschool scholarships in town, Greenwich United Way dollars supported tuition for 600 children from low or moderate income families.In April of this year the Greenwich United Way sold its office building at 1 Lafayette Court for $2,495,000 and created an endowment-like fund with the proceeds from the sale to ensure the organization’s future financial viability. A committee selected from Board members was created to manage these funds in the reserve.
