GREENWICH, CT, November 2, 2015 –
Francesca Anderson, a botanical artist and illustrator specializing in pen-and-ink and scratchboard drawing, will draw in public at the Bruce Museum on
Wednesday and Thursday, November 4 and 5. This is the first time the Museum hosts a live performance
by a visual artist in the galleries. Visitors can watch Anderson create a scratchboard drawing of one or
more birds selected from the Museum collection.
The artist plans to work in the Museum’s lecture gallery from 10 am to noon and 2 pm to 4 pm each day and welcomes interaction with Museum guests. Her completed drawing will be featured in an exhibition of her flora and fauna artworks on view at the Bruce in late July 2016.

Anderson has had over 15 solo shows and 45 group shows in the United States and abroad. Her work is
represented in international museums including the National Museum of Art of Scotland, the Lindley
Library of the Royal Horticultural Society, and the Smithsonian Museums, as well as in private collections.
Her work has illustrated botanical books and journal articles. Anderson is a trustee of Brooklyn Botanic
Garden, founder and president of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Florilegium Society, and a fellow of the
Linnean Society, London.
