Kneads Bakery is coming to Railroad Avenue, and it's bringing two spaces at once: an approximately 2,000-square-foot bakery café on the avenue itself, plus a separate 200-square-foot coffee and grab-and-go counter tucked inside the Greenwich train station, according to plans tied to the Greenwich Crossing development.
A real bakery and a grab-and-go coffee counter inside the train station — that's exactly what downtown Greenwich has been missing.
If you don't know Kneads yet, here's the pitch: they mill their own organic whole-grain flour fresh every day, then turn it into breads, pastries, and breakfast, alongside sandwiches, soups, salads, and Irving Farm coffee. It's the kind of bakery where the bread actually tastes like it was made that morning, because it was.
This will be Kneads' third location, following its original Westport café and a new Fairfield spot opening this October — so Greenwich is getting in early on what's clearly a fast-growing favorite.
Both Greenwich spaces — the Railroad Avenue café and the train station counter — are expected to open in late spring 2027.
For anyone who's ever sprinted for the 7:42 with nothing but a sad vending-machine granola bar, the train station counter is the real headline here. A real bakery and a grab-and-go coffee counter inside the train station — that's exactly what downtown Greenwich has been missing. *image is not the real bakery, just a visual*
