The long-vacant space at 8–10 Lewis Street — formerly home to Greenwich's New York Sports Club — is slated to become Kyma, the Greek restaurant brand with locations in New York and West Palm Beach.
Approved plans allow for 200+ people at dinner, with capacity reaching up to 225 Thursday through Sunday.
It's a very different future for one of downtown Greenwich's most recognizable vacant spaces.
The project has been years in the making, moving through multiple rounds of zoning review, revised site plans, and delays before landing in its current approved form. Kyma now lists Greenwich as coming in 2027.
The redevelopment also includes the former Sophia's Costume Rentals space next door, with previous approvals covering plans for a small bakery and market alongside the restaurant.
It's a very different future for one of downtown Greenwich's most recognizable vacant spaces — one that's sat empty long enough that most of us have stopped expecting anything to change.
With a 2027 target now on the books, that wait finally has an end date.
