There are holiday windows… and then there is @hoaglands_greenwich
If you’ve grown up in Greenwich or lived here for even a minute, you already know that Hoagland’s isn’t just a store. It’s a tradition. A memory. A little pocket of magic that has been part of our town for generations. And every year, just when you think they couldn’t possibly top themselves, they do something like this.
These windows stop you in your tracks. Rows of gingerbread houses so detailed you swear you can smell cinnamon. Sparkling trees covered in candies and ornaments that feel straight out of a childhood storybook. Santa tucked in the background like he’s been hard at work all night. Every inch is layered with joy, nostalgia, and that warm Christmas feeling you can’t quite put into words.
This is the kind of display that makes you slow down. That makes kids press their faces to the glass and adults let out that little gasp we forget we still have inside us. The kind of magic Greenwich is lucky enough to claim as “ours.”
Hoagland’s has been part of this community for so many years, and somehow they still manage to surprise us, delight us, and remind us why local shops matter. They give us moments like this, moments that become memories, moments we look forward to every single holiday season.
If you’re driving down the Avenue, do yourself a favor: stop. Take it in. Let yourself feel that spark. And then pop inside, because the magic doesn’t stop at the window.
Thank you, @hoaglands_greenwich, for making Greenwich feel like the inside of a snow globe once again.
