I have a confession. For the past few months, I have been quietly, deeply obsessing over one particular local interior designer’s Instagram feed. It started innocently enough…a little curiosity after seeing an extraordinary blue-and-white room (swipe to see) that I could not get out of my mind. But that curiosity quickly turned into a full-blown daily ritual. Every afternoon, when I finally get a moment of me-time, I make a cup of tea, sit in my favorite chair, and scroll endlessly through the @prudencebaileyinteriordesign feed.
It has become one of my favorite parts of the day.
Prudence’s work is a world you fall into — full of color, joy, thoughtful curation, and breathtaking pattern play. Every room sparkles with intention. Her ability to mix tones, textiles, and textures creates spaces that feel both elevated and comforting, as if your dream home met your happiest memory. There is nothing formulaic about her designs; each project feels layered, personal, and full of that “how did she think of that?” magic.
A few weeks ago, I finally reached out to Prudence (yes — we’re now on a first-name basis), and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting her jaw-droppingly gorgeous studio in New Canaan. You know how some people’s energy fills a room? That’s Prudence. Warm, brilliant, and endlessly creative. Hearing her talk about her process — color stories, architectural flow, storytelling through interiors — was a masterclass in design.
And I’m not exaggerating when I say this: she is now my go-to interior designer. When GG’s ask me who they should trust with their home, their forever project, their “please-help-me-pull-this-all-together” wish? The answer is easy.
Prudence is your girl.
Her style is the perfect marriage of New England tradition and fresh, modern vibrancy. Many think of her as a blue and white designer, but her work extends far beyond that palette. She has a fearless command of color, a stunning ability to mix patterns, and a deeply intuitive sense of how families actually live in their homes. Spaces feel light-filled, optimistic, and beautifully balanced. Whether it’s a whimsical playroom, a serene bedroom, a showstopping dining room, or a mudroom that makes you want to reorganize your entire life — her work is instantly recognizable.
If you haven’t seen her work yet, stop what you’re doing and look. Immediately.
You will fall in love just like I did.
