So, let’s start with a simple, broad stroked outline of a few tips on how to get started with your theme for decor this year.
When noodling on the over arching theme for your seasonal interior design & decor one must first consider the use of each individual space and tabletop within the first floor rooms that will soon be covered in pumpkins, as the decor can not eliminate a space we require for our routines!
Personally, for me it is ALL ABOUT the front entrance, both inside and out, as well as the dining room table, secondary are the touches in between.
For the outdoor surrounding area of the homes main entrance trying to narrow it down by flower or plant is not exactly doable this season – fall tends to have slim pickin’s when it comes to aesthetically gorgeous blooming flowers.

The quintessential fall bud: Mums.
They are actually very far from my list of loves however there is something to be said for their notorious iconic representation in confirming that the autmn is indeed upon us.
I found that combining varying muted green tones (even some sporadic orange punkies too!) along with the 50 million shades of white/cream pumpkins and a surplus of consistent, plush, white mums (only!) got the job done much faster than I anticipated while setting a beautifully, or should I say BOO-tifully🙄, serene, simple and laid back welcoming to what decor would be found beyond our front doors.
For the elements of metals and woods, I basically grabbed whatever was in my line of vision and whatever wasn’t too heavy! The worn, ie: tin buckets, and barrels are somehow always lingering around our garden and the few black, scratched up urns (I found these for under $15 each at Loew’s!) were the perfect pedalstool for the tripled up pumpkin towers. I actually accidentally placed the tin bin on an old wooden kitchen chair and then realized I loved the look!
I was unintentionally resourceful in keeping the color palette within my comfort zone while tying in an element of natural.
For the back of the house I was much more minimal and remained loyal to the white palette with mums and one pumpkin per step.
The added thought of burlap around the plastic planters was really because my little chicken wing arms couldn’t carry the cement planters, and, truth be told, there are actually little white bunnies painted on either end of the burlap runners, as they are intended for the Easter settings, but who would even know!?
Last but certainly not least, cute tid bit: I stumbled upon finding these little, paint splashed clay planters that look darling with a baby pumpkin and a handful of lush greenery as a cushion, sitting right on top of it for the window sills garnish.
