We have all done it: driving by a cute store front or restaurant and make a mental note that you must pop in. After months of repeatedly passing said store you eventually make it in and low and behold on a rare occasion it is love at first sight. Well ladies and gentlemen that is exactly what Back 40 Mercantile is. Having just opened in July 2014 and located in the heart of Old Greenwich O4M is a treasure chest showcasing local artisans work. Everything from wooden bowls made from the barks of fallen trees to slate cutting boards made by a Brooklyn based artist. They have everything from incredible organic cleansers for linens to a unique book collection, baby gifts and so much more. But don’t let the store front deceive you! Owned by an amazingly large family this store is just one of the many business ideas that has stemmed from their all organic farm upstate. With some beyond exciting new ventures [secret isn’t out yet] on the horizon we GG’s have a LOT to look forward to this spring! Check out some of the photos from my visit to this little gem in OG.
