It’s party time!! Cinco de Mayo is just a few days and away and we want to make sure we make the most of it. Enveloped by the spicy aroma of Mexican food, lively music and visually stunning parades, Cinco de Mayo ushers in that time of outdoor get-together’s with friends and family to have some fun and shake off winter’s chill. Although, the holiday is often a bigger celebration in the U.S. than in Mexico, it is still commemorated in the Mexican state of Puebla, where the holiday is referred to as El Di`a de la Batalla de Puebla. It is not Mexico’sIndependence Day as many may think. It is a celebration of 1862 Mexican military victory over the French army.
A great margarita starts the evening on a high note. After sampling a scattering array of Mexican dishes, dancing to mariachi and folk music you could ask is there anything more? There is. Festive cupcakes in south of the border flavors from Dean & Deluca. Sure churros are great and so is flan. But for a more adult version of this holiday, these cupcakes literally take the cake. With flavors ranging from Margarita fresh lime cake with Patron tequila buttercream (yum), to Dulche de LecheMadagascar bourbon vanilla cake with dulche de leche buttercream these tasty cakes will instantly transport you to sandy beaches.
Each order comes with twelve of these sinfully delicious treats in three different flavors. I am sure everyone will have a favorite. These would make wonderful hostess gifts or to enjoy with friends. Or who knows, this may be a secret you will want to keep for yourself. Enjoy!
