Welcome to our new Executive Director
We would like to welcome Niall McMorrow, our new Executive Director, to the
Garden Education Center. Niall, a resident of New Canaan, CT, comes to us with broad experience in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. As a past volunteer at The Horticultural Society of New York and The New York Botanical Garden, and a former Director of Horticulture at Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens in Stamford, Niall has been involved in a myriad of horticultural activities since 2007, reflecting his deep passion for all things related to plants and design. Prior to this, Niall had a 25-year career in international banking, most recently as a Managing Director at ING Bank in New York. The Board of Directors is excited to have Niall share all his talents with the GEC!
Dazzling Dahlias Show

The Greenwich Dahlia Society is hosting the show at the Garden Center in October. Everyone is invited to see the lovely display.

Founded in 2009, the Greenwich Dahlia Society of the Garden Education Center is a Participating Society of the American Dahlia Society, in which our members may also be enrolled. Beginning Yoga for Gardeners, Not your Daughter’s Yoga!

“Food for Thought”-Conscious Living Dinner Conversation Series

We are surrounded by an abundance of fast, ready-made foods that are that quickly becoming the new normal. This three-part interactive dinner conversation will give you the tools to make informed decisions & avoid the pitfalls of the ‘Standard American Diet’ (SAD). Each dinner conversation includes lively demos and conversations that inspire nutritional transformations. Dr. Jonathan Roberti is a celebrated speaker, Hippocrates Health Institute health educator, and wellicious guru. After weighting more than 240 pounds and spending more time in other doctor’s offices than his own, Jonathan transformed his entire life and is opening the door for others to do the very same.

Please join renowned landscape architects Edmund Hollander and Maryanne Connelly, partners in
Hollander Design and authors of the new book, The Good Garden, for an insightful dialogue about the seminal elements of successful residential landscapes. As the authors maintain, the Three Ecologies: Ecology of site, Human Ecology and the Ecology of Architecture, are the cornerstones of a successful residential project. Youth Programs
Be a part of the Earthlings Enrichment Program. We offer educational and creative play onsite in your local classrooms, school gardens, windowsill gardens, and compost bins. We’ll be using stories and imagination to branch out and forage in our Green Spaces during developmentally appropriate nature-based programs.

Earn Community Service Hours! Teen Volunteers use your tech, writing, or drawing skills to help build and support our Earthling Enrichment Programs, and build your narrative storytelling and horticultural knowledge.
