Step aside Restoration Hardware Kids: Missoni in in the house, literally. Introducing Missoni for Pottery Barn Kids
It’s All About The Kids: Children’s home decor kicks it up a notch and is said to now rival the popularity of children’s apparel
As if dressing your little one like a walking ad for Burberry wasn’t hard enough now you have the pattern on the crib bumper and color scheme in their nursery to ponder about. Oh yes, the day has come. Missoni meets Pottery Barn…for kids. And yes, you read that right. In a world where children have become the mobile billboards for showcasing fashion statements that could be seen on any given Millenial the justification for spending oodles of green on trending outfits for tots is now spilling over into the world of interior design. Despite the fact that an infant will undoubtedly and rapidly grow out of both categories, designers are honing in on the importance and growing popularity of both. Let’s be real, if you are going to deck out your kids room with an endless budget why not have it be by Missoni? Italian fashion house Missoni’s heiress is tempting stylish parents with the launch of a capsule collection for home furniture brand Pottery Barn, available early 2017. Comprised of 50 pieces Margherita Maccapani Missoni Amos has designed a collection that caters to the decor of nurserys, bedrooms and playrooms. The Margherita Missoni for Pottery Barn Kids line is Amos’ first shot at childrens ‘housewares’ – a niche market that is said to perhaps see as much interest as children’s wear has these past few years among the affluent. Taking her family’s iconic tradition of bright colors, bold patterns and playful designs into consideration, Amos designed bedding, furniture, accessories, wall decor, lighting and other nursery essentials. Designed to fit all decor palettes Amos made sure that all pieces could be mixed and matched to reflect independent styles. The common thread among the Missoni tradition that has allowed for a seamless transition from apparel to home decor is the brands fearless use of colors and patterns. Using this unique advantage Missoni has even applied it to furniture designed for their first residential project, The Missoni Baia, a 57 story luxury tower, by incorporating the brand’s colorful palette throughout the Missoni Home furniture collections, spaces and amenities.
