In case you missed the Grammys Sunday night, here is the GG certified recap for you and only you:
The biggest headline news from the event was, of course, when Adele snapped her Grammy in two (OMG) for Queen B when she accepted her Album of the Year award! They were both favored to win, and this way, they both did and were able to spread the love in the meantime. It shocked everyone, but we think they’re both fabulous. But let’s back track – Adele didn’t stop there, also winning Song of the Year for “Hello” and three other awards, marking her total up to a whopping five to put on display. Not only that, but she is the only artist to hold these two awards twice in one year (along with Best Record). So basically, she’s amazing.
In other Grammy news, even though Beyoncé didn’t win for best album, she have an awe-inspiring media filled performance dedicated to children and motherhood in celebration of her currently pregnancy with twins. She embraced all cultures and races through her performance, and many remember it as the best of the night. Chance the Rapper won best rap album and best new artist, and even David Bowie snagged four total awards post mortem. There were plenty of tributes and many memorable performances; maybe one or two slip-ups, but those were easy to forget amidst the sea of talent and lyrical genius. James Corden of “Carpool Karaoke” made a hysterical and jaw dropping entrance as he fell down the stage and “stopped the show”, therefore beginning the 2017 Grammys with a bang, literally. One of our favorite moments was when a crowd of artists from all walks of the music industry gathered around Corden and Neil Diamond for a cute and quirky rendition of “Sweet Caroline”. Celebs included Faith Hill, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, and of course, our favorite mini chic diva Blue Ivy.
These are only a few of the most memorable moments in this years Grammys, and we’re sure next year’s will be even more fabulous. Who doesn’t love an excuse to celebrate with some drinks and some friends on a Sunday night?
