Like so many ladies I know, I’ve worked with the same hair peeps for years — never wanting to go elsewhere for fear of “cheating” on my team — but one day that changed. It was around the time Kim Kardashian went blonde and heaven knows, it was all we heard about for a whole week. It became water cooler talk at the GG office and one day, I joined our young group of interns in the discussion and learned that my hair-pinion was “wayyyyy” outdated. So long story short, we did our research, we made a shortlist of the best salons in town, and we decided to get foxy by Fekkai.
Located on Lewis Court, a cobblestone road home to a grouping of small-scale buildings, and housed in a space around 2,000 square feet with exposed brick throughout, Frederic Fekkai Greenwich combines a metropolitan vibe with a sophisticated and intimate setting. The Creative Director, Alexandre, and the Regional Salon Director, Jin, are buzzing around the Salon to make sure every need is attended to and to see that every cut, color, and blow-dry is perfect. Different than any other salon we’ve been to, the doors open at 8am five days a week – a dream for those of us consistently trying to cram 26 hours into 24. With massage chairs for your wash, velvet pouches for your gems, and “the best cappuccinos ever” (according to our photographer), the experience at Frederic Fekkai Greenwich is just better. Better than where you’ve been and better than where you’re currently going.
Experts in the business and still traveling the world for shoots and celebrity styling, Rabih (Stylist) and Sarah (Colorist) gave me a flawless cut, color, and haircare regime for my lifestyle. Providing tips throughout the process and introducing me to some wonderful products from the new Fekkai SOLEIL line, the experience at the Salon was nothing short of delightful. When I saw the GG team later that day, our editorial intern’s mouth dropped before saying “OMG you look sooooooo much younger and I need your hair.” I think all of the gals over 25 would call that a successful hair day.
Don’t be anti-social, keep up with us on social media to see behind the scenes pics and don’t miss our review of the Fekkai SOLEIL line later this summer.
