We’re back for yet another travel adventure, and today, it’s in Fairfield! We talk a lot about Fairfield County in general, but let’s zoom into the namesake town itself for a sneak peak at some of our favorite spots.
In The Mood Intimates: First stop, a little self-confidence boost at In The Mood Intimates! In this shop, their motto is geared towards providing each client with “the best selection, price, size, and most importantly customer service”. Moreover, through their bountiful online boutique, you can order your favorite intimates online with the click of a button. Their inventory includes categories of sexy and lacey lingerie including bras, bridal lingerie, hosiery and socks, maternity and nursing, panties, performance, plus size lingerie, sexy, shapewear, and slips and camisoles. Basically, for any lingerie question you may have, In The Mood has the solution.
Mecha Noodle Bar: Who doesn’t love a warm and cozy bowl of noodle soup on a cold February afternoon? If this sounds appealing, Mecha Noodle Bar is absolutely ideal for you and your hungry belly. This spot, while yummy in its cuisine, is even more satisfying in its background and story. Mecha means “Mom and Pop” in Vietnamese, and the owners dedicate their restaurant “to their upbringing and to all of the other hidden gems across the country”. From pho to ramen and steamed “baos” to cocktails, Mecha serves up an array of what they call “Asia’s most comforting dishes”. Moreover, they self-identify as “American-Vietnamese-Japanese-Thai-Chinese-Korean-New England-Momofuku-Totto-and-Ippudo-inspired”. Funny and delicious? BRB…running to Mecha right now!
The Little Goose: Craving that snug New England ambiance? Head to The Little Goose! Categorized as a “gastro-pub” based on American classics and local ingredients, this eatery is guaranteed to please every member of your crowd for brunch, lunch, and dinner. On the menu, they have every staple from onion soup au gratin, classic Caesar, shrimp cocktail, and Cape Cod Calamari. Yet, they still manage to spice things up with some unique dishes like hot and moody chips, Arthur Avenue spring rolls, Mykonos salad, big “Mack” burger, and rigatoni “Grey Goose” style, etc. You’re gonna love it here – we’ll bet on it!
Milkcraft: As always, we’ve found your local sweet spot to round out your culinary jaunt. Milkcraft is an unparalleled creamery that is inspired by Capri, Italy – with that thought alone, who wouldn’t want to visit this place? They create artisanal flavors from scratch through collaborations with local farmers to ensure all their ingredients are natural. They use Liquid Nitrogen to freeze their products which, they find, creates the smoothest and creamiest ice cream ever. Not only that, but they also handcraft caramelized “Hong Kong style waffles” as well as “hot Creamee buns” – you know, the super trendy and amazingly delicious bubble cones and sweet fluffy sandwiches you see all over Instagram. Yup, Milkcraft is way ahead and has already perfected them. Some of their special flavors include s’mores campfire, strawberry balsamic, cookie butter blue, milk & cereal, PB&J roasted banana, sea salted caramel, and more. Is your mouth watering yet? Ours is too.
Fairfield Cheese Company: It’s time for one last indulgence before the journey ends. Fairfield Cheese Company, with its second location in Greenwich, is your new go-to for all things dairy. They make authentic and handcrafted cheeses and charcuterie that are guaranteed to be crowd pleasers. The shop keeps a close communication and rapport with local food producers around the state and even worldwide to ensure their products are always fresh and made with care. They even offer Cheese School classes if you want to learn more about the process first hand – owners Laura Downey and Chris Palumbo say that it will make you “walk away a different person”. Beyond their exceptional meat and cheese selections, they also sell various “pantry” items like local honey, extra virgin olive oil, chocolates, sauces, crackers, and much more, as well as many accessories and utensils like cheeseboards and cheese books. If you’re looking for a one-stop shop in gourmet heaven, you’ve found it here.
And, if you’re looking for us, we’ll be in Fairfield. See you there!
