Whether you are a parent or not, King School is a magical institution that all should be privy to. Whether your children are far beyond the age of pre-K – senior year or not there yet, and aside from the life stage Ofer next quite being there yet in the kid zone: for those of you who are not familiar with King School in Stamford – I strongly encourage each and every one of you to familiarize yourself ASAP. And here’s why:
As we all know, historically speaking it hasn’t exactly been the norm for me to write about anything that related to education other than the fact that I LOVE kids. Mostly because personally, I believe education is a tremendously personal, private, and important decision that often is decided without vocalizing. But when I became infatuated with King School one question kept looping in my mind, “but what about the people who don’t know how to even begin exploring this major decision?!”
As a writer who loves to share every single thing I find intriguing, useful and or entertaining, I am bursting into this category with pom-poms. The best part is that YOU can get to know the remarkable King School in Stamford in TWO DAYS, first hand, at their open house.
So, why you should you go? I’m getting there.
Clearly, the place is gorgeous (see pics) but more importantly, even more beautiful than the campus and it’s surrounding, is their overall approach to students. Encouraging, embracing and enhancing each child’s creativity and working with them to strive to their own best potential is what sets King apart from the rest; the school, as a whole, truly cares about so much more than meeting a status of achievement or reputation, and it is this sincere approach that has in turn rewarded them with such spectacular success. King School is a magical place where minds are expanded, educated and inspired, by unconditional acceptance and guidance.
Each day their students discover their unique paths to excellence, as they teach, guide, and cheer them on. Because of this focus on setting standards for both the experience and outcomes of education, all King students cultivate the insights, and heart, to own their future.
When children are told there are only a few achievements worth striving for, and that their friends are really their competitors, their creativity and independence are stifled, duh. At King, students are challenged in a more positive, growth provoking manner by daring young people to ask more of their education than a race to the finish.
“Our better way to be your best means amplifying students’ passions and uncovering the talents they don’t yet know they have. King students celebrate achievement within community, and know that their King experience will take them wherever they want to go.”

When students are known, supported, and understood at a school, they feel more confident in exploring new things and taking risks. After all, doesn’t this sound like a dreamy educational experience at ANY age, nonetheless preK- senior year?! That is because it is. The King approach leads students to be more likely to discover new strengths and push beyond what’s required to “make the grade.” King students pursue meaningful research, boldly intertwine academic subjects, and share their learning in diverse formats. They deepen their understanding through the give and take of different perspectives. King students discover a better way to be their best.
