THE BRAND
The Greenwich Girl, as a brand, was created in 2016, shortly after I published a spontaneous, three day blog with a girlfriend during a hurricane that never showed up. My innate love of writing has always been something that I kept private, and was more of a hobby than a potential career path. To make a long story short, a few days after we got stood up by the hurricane, I got a phone call from the local paper and was told that we had 10,000 hits on the blog in the first 24 hours; (to really drive home the literalness of just how NOT savvy with the world of writing or blogging I was at the time) let me just say that I had to be told what a ‘hit’ was (a view)! Within days II received SIX free lance writing job offers out of nowhere and this was the huge aha moment for me: I took this entire situation as a sign that maybe I should in fact consider writing as a career path after all.
So, I left my miserable, very stable and high paying job in finance and took a chance on doing what I love. The fear of never chasing what mattered most, my dream of writing everyday, was something I feared more than having to figure out how to make it all work. In the following few months I wrote a series of books, the first of which is titled Greenwich Girl. I couldn’t get any of them published due to the fact that I didn’t have a ‘digital presence’ and this is right when GG aka Greenwich Girl, the brand, was born.
I have since evolved the brand into an online magazine, soon to be hardcopy, a reliable and go-to local resource for all ages who want to keep savvy on all things lifestyle, and have been further developing GG as a lifestyle brand beyond the written word as I explore products and other partnerships for the future.
While our focus is and always will be heavily on local we have expanded into other geographical areas; showcasing our preferences and picks of where to go, what to eat and who to meet from a GG’s POV in other areas too!
A few years later, here we are. As I continue to grow as an individual, as a creative and as a writer, the GG brand continues to evolve with me, by my side and in perfect sync with my interests, priorities, and with our upcoming, soon-to-be-shared additional brands, announcements and new business developments and partnerships that will be introduced in the near future. Among those introductions will be some major announcements are coming very soon; and with those will come some very big and exciting changes.
PS – for those who haven’t check out our first INTERACTIVE digital magazine, be sure to read it asap! We just published the OCT2020 issue! You can read it here!
