While the whole adulting thing really isn’t that bad there are definitely moments when I have to ask myself “am I really a grown up?” Take Easter for example. What I would do to drown myself in gourmet jelly beans and champagne flavored gummy bears like every other five year old on the planet is astounding. Sadly the whole metabolism slowing with time combined with the borderline concern of an adult sugar addict make this daydream drift off with the clouds. The good news is that Easter baskets do not just have to be for the kiddies.
Make it personal! Have fun! Do it up! Every kid wants a chocolate bunny, I get it. You want to know what I want? A bath bomb bunny. A golden egg, Betteridge style (kidding.) And a candle that will whisk me away to never never land as bubbles surround me. Yup. I want bubbles, lots of them, loofas and pretty soap, French soap with a name I can’t pronounce and a candle that is almost too pretty to light. And while these are among my favorite little things to enjoy the one thing I want is to actually take the bath to actually use these items rather than staring at them from across the room pushing said bath to yet another day. As I contemplate what goodies to grab for my nearest and dearest I can’t help but share some of my DIY adulting-easter-basket ideas!
I loveeee picking out presents for people. Things that are glam, fab and lux are what I aim for when it comes to gift giving. You know those little things that often border on the line of what some of us may not splurge on for ourselves but would just adore to receive as a gift, yes those are the best.
What You’ll Need:
- Wine of choice: depending on the gift-ee’s pref
- Wire basket (Home Goods)
- Small bouquet
- Bath goodies
- Scented candle
- Pretty matches
White. Truffle. Oil.
Do I really need to elaborate? Drizzle on a salad, a pizza, a noodle, a slice of a baguette. Done.
A glammed up watering can.
Yes, I know – gardening may be going too far with the adulting thing however for those among us who love to get down and dirty with the greenery, and seeing that spring is in fact right around the corner, there is something to be said about having a glam watering can that not only does the trick but does so in style. This is also a multi-use gift in that one could even use it for twigs, branches and blossom vines, maybe even a little dash of ivy, to serve as a rustic chic planter.
Water Lily Rabbit Soap & Dish
This precious soap and dish literally makes my day. Subtly acknowledging the holiday at hand this pretty little way to rinse off lasts far beyond the holiday and adds a touch of lush lux to any gift.
Heart Cleansing Sponge
So remember that loofa I mentioned earlier? This is just about the cutest loofa I have ever seen. And for $10 it is absolutely worth dropping the few extra bucks for the cuteness factor alone.
Oh the blissful, joy of Diptyque anything! With varying sizes these luxurious candles don’t all have heartbreaking price tags. Grab a mini and fire it up – with hours of burning time this little flame looks gorgeous as it glows.
This perfectly pint sized arrangement of beauty is only $10 at Whole Foods! Not even kidding Whole Foods has nailed it with these adorbs Petite Bouquets offered in a variety of floral combos year round and perfect for any gift basket, box or even as a topper!
How to: Place straw at the bottom of the wire basket, and weave decorative ribbon through the basket’s slots. Lean the wine against the back left corner of the basket, the flowers against the right, and position bath goodies and candle accordingly—with taller items in the back and shorter towards the front.
